The Ninteno Wii and the Wii Remote

By now, I am sure plenty of you have already braved the madness that is Christmas shopping. And I am sure many of you fearlessly fought the crowds on that one day of the year that gets your adrenaline pumping and possibly gets you trampled as you try to save five bucks on a big screen TV; of course I am referring to Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving when everyone goes to buy the hottest gifts for the holidays. Or perhaps just runs around the mall for the heck of it. Either way, you will be looking for the best of the best to get for those you love.

According to many articles and wish lists, there is something many people want this Christmas (That is those who do not already have one; that something is Nintendo Wii. So being the gamer that I am, as well as a proud owner of a Wii, I'm here to help anyone who hasn't done their shopping yet. However, I am warning you, this may get pricey.

If you have been in a cave for the last year and do not know what a Wii is, it is Nintendo's newest video game console that utilizes motion sensors and plenty of other technical magic inside Wii's sleek remote (or as I call it, the Wiimote.) It is an innovation in the industry that is creating new ways to play and is reaching out to everyone. Children and senior citizens can play together in a game of WiiSports, which is a game included with every Wii that allows you to play baseball, bowling, golf, boxing, or tennis in your living room by emulating the movements used in real life.

Because Wii is so amazing, everyone wants one of these magical boxes, but Nintendo cannot keep up with the high demand. No matter how many they make, stores never seem to have any in stock. With such a high demand and a fun form of casual gaming anyone can get behind, the Wii is clearly a gift that is desired.

I received my Wii last Christmas and I can tell you that getting one is worth the long lines in which you may very well have to wait. How long of a wait? More than likely several hours and maybe even over several consecutive days. My mom had clocked in a total of nine hours waiting in front of a Game Stop just to buy a Wii. For a few hours each day, she would wait outside in line just to get a chance to purchase a Nintendo Wii. Eventually, she was rewarded with a great gift for her two sons, but merely because of luck.
