Day Three

Last day. I can't imagine living weeks like this, three days has already been an eye opener for me. In doing this, I did some research and came across a website called freerice.com. It provides a vocabulary words and you guess the definition. For every word right, you "win" 20 grains of rice. The sponsors of the site actually donate your winnings to the World Food Programme. They have been able to feed 20,000 refugees living in Bangladesh, among many others. This program recognizes that you cannot live on rice alone and also donates vegetable oil, bread salt and other food products. 168,892,560 grains of rice were
donated yesterday alone. Even though I am getting miserable living off just rice, I enjoy visiting this site, knowing I am helping others. I'd glad I participated in this fast for I can get a semi-understanding of what people go through everyday. I hope everyone is thankful for the food they eat everyday. Not everyone has the choice of what they eat on a daily basis and that is something to be thankful for. The next time you complain when you go out to eat and they don't have what you want, think of the people who don't have that choice at all.
